Know Your Numbers Health Screening Event

The Defiance County Health Department, in partnership with Defiance College, is hosting a free heart health screening event on Thursday, April 23, offering adults an easy, no-cost way to learn important health information and take a positive step toward long-term wellness.

Event Details

The screenings will be held at Defiance College’s Serrick Campus Center, 701 N. Clinton Street, with two convenient time options:

  • 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
  • 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.

 

What to Expect

Participants will receive several quick, free health checks, including:

  • Blood pressure screening
  • Blood sugar (glucose) testing
  • Body Mass Index (BMI)
  • Waist-to-hip ratio
  • A 3-minute step test to assess heart and lung fitness

Results are shared on the spot, with staff available to explain what the numbers mean and why they matter.

Light refreshments will be available, and participants will have the chance to win door prizes.

To reduce barriers to attendance, the Defiance County Senior Center will provide free transportation to and from the event between 9:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m., with pickup and drop-off at the Senior Center
